Free, and Fun: Help OlongoAfrica Publish Its First Book

We are proud to launch a crowdfunder today for Brick House member OlongoAfrica‘s new book imprint, which will debut with the long-out-of-print travel memoir by Mashood Ọlábísí Àjàlá, An African Abroad.

We’re kicking off the crowdfunder at MozFest, an online gathering for activists, educators, technologists, students, artists, and journalists who want a more humane digital world. Please take just a few minutes to help, simply by getting a MozFest ticket that comes loaded with $10 in tips that you can send to OlongoAfrica–for free!!

How it works: Our benefactors at Grant for the Web/Interledger are offering $10 in free credit from Coil as a special gift to MozFest ticketholders. Coil is an easy-to-use browser extension that helps send streaming payments and tips to participating websites, like OlongoAfrica and the Brick House. MozFest is full of fun sessions, experiences, and resources; this Brick House experiment is just one of them.

The Interledger Foundation is supporting the festival as a top-level sponsor, and MozFest tickets are “pay what you can.” We appreciate your MozFest donations to this worthy cause, but if you can’t contribute at this time, there’s no obligation.

Here’s what to do!!!

  • Register for MozFest
  • Click the emailed link you’ll receive to claim your $10 in Coil tipping credit
  • VISIT OlongoAfrica’s crowdfunding post, click the Coil icon in the upper right corner of your browser, and leave a tip to contribute to the republication of An African Abroad

That’s it!! All this shouldn’t take more than a few minutes

If you can manage it, a giant THANK YOU from all of us at OlongoAfrica and the Brick House!
